Today, Sennheiser is one of the oldest and most respected microphone companies. Sennheiser<\/strong> microphones are generally considered to be one of the high-quality “standards” in all of the “audio” industries, and are highly regarded for two main reasons: their smooth sound and build quality. The rugged design of the Sennheiser<\/strong> portable is virtually identical to the earlier Evolution<\/strong> and follows in the tradition of what are often called “dangerous” microphones… an irritated musician not being gentle with equipment that appears on the microphone, but not on the Sennheiser<\/strong> microphone. This thing feels like a gun: it feels really good in your hand, lets you know it’s not a toy, and reacts in a very business-like manner. The mic also has an improved battery gauge that is more like a fuel gauge rather than giving you a rudimentary red light that tells you you’re low on power, often only after it’s too late! (As a word of caution: now that the mic uses AA batteries, don’t be tempted to use rechargeable batteries: the mic’s power indicator is only meant to read alkaline batteries; if you’re using rechargeable batteries, they’ll look “charged” until they disappear from the radar). The microphone also has a backlit screen which makes it very easy to read on a dark stage. Very convenient. The G2 100<\/strong> series also uses an automatic frequency scanner to fine-tune and maintain good microphone “locking”. The robust construction of the portable microphones combined with their excellent response makes them a great choice for touring and installations, while the range and ease of use have made this microphone a hit on the record, perfect for any event from a birthday party to a rock concert. .<\/p>\n
