How to choose a rental projector for presentations

Today it is difficult to imagine a serious presentation without broadcasting information on a large screen. Viewers are shown video clips, presentation slides, photos, documents, graphics. This information is located on the computer hard disk (usually), so the intermediate link between the medium and the screen is a multimedia projector. It is a rather small device that connects to a PC, laptop, video camera, TV tuner and broadcasts information to the monitor. In this regard, many people have a question about how to choose a projector for presentations, because there are hundreds of models on sale, as well as any other professional equipment.

The main criteria for choosing a device are based on the degree of brightness, the level of broadcast quality. Also decisive may be the characteristics associated with the type and method of connection, the weight of the device, the presence of additional functions.

Brightness.

If you do not know at all which projector is better for presentations, first of all, start from the brightness characteristic. It is measured in lumens. From this parameter depends on how many people you can broadcast information to and under what lighting.

  • If the presentation can be held in a darkened room, the simplest projector with a brightness of 800 lumens will do.
  • With low illumination it is better to use a device with 1000 lumens.
  • In a brightly lit space, 2000 lumens is sufficient.
  • In a very brightly lit hall (on the sunny side of the building on a summer day) you need a brightness of 5000 lumens.
  • For an audience of up to 100 spectators – 2500 lumens.
  • For broadcasting in front of an audience of up to 200 people – 3000 lumens.

You can also focus on the class of equipment. For everyday use in an ordinary office, a budget model will be enough, and it is better to use it for a small screen up to 2 meters wide. Business class devices have high quality standards that meet the modern level of multimedia, are optimal for most tasks and screens with a width of 3 meters.

Focal distance.

This parameter determines whether you can transmit the right size image in a small or, on the contrary, very large room. Models with a long focal length are designed to transmit information from a long distance (for example, as in a movie theater). For work in a small office you will need a projector with a short focus.

It is worth prioritizing the focus characteristic, because if you choose the wrong one, you may find that the projector will broadcast an image that is too small (or too large).

Image Quality by Resolution

In order not to be limited to a narrow range of content formats (e.g. only photos and documents), but to be able to broadcast everything up to high quality video, choose models with WXGA, Full HD, HD 4K resolution.

Remember that the resolution of the multimedia projector must match the video adapter of the media (laptop, computer).

Method of mounting.

For the efficiency of displaying the image on the screen, you will need to choose the optimal point of installation of the equipment. You can put the projector not only on the table. With the help of special mounts, it can also be hung on the wall and ceiling.

For roadshows.

If you regularly hold events in different rooms, then it is better to stop your choice of projector for presentation on a portable model. It should have a small weight (optimally – from 1 to 5 kg), fairly high brightness (for use in any conditions). It is desirable – wireless connection method, so that the broadcast does not depend on the location of other devices, which is sometimes difficult to control when changing locations.
