LED moduleThe module of the LED screen is an association of pixels into structural elements of standard sizes. Different manufacturers have modules of different sizes in their lineup.

The module itself is a small board, on the front side of which are embedded LEDs, and on the reverse side – electronic elements. Usually, when the LEDs fail, it is the modules that need to be replaced.

Cabinet LED screen – large prefabricated elements (panels), which consist of a certain number of modules. The parameters of the modules are multiples of the cabinet parameter. For example, a panel with the size of 960×960 mm consists of 36 (6*6) modules with the size of 160*160 mm each.

The dimensions of the cabinets are 0.5-2 m, thickness – 175 mm. Panels are fastened together without gaps, forming a solid screen canvas. The cabinets must be equipped with power supplies.

When the viewing angle is changed, the brightness and color rendering becomes much lower. The size of the LED angle can vary within small limits – from 70 to 120 degrees.

• The viewing angle of the screen is the angle at which the brightness of the image is 2 times lower in relation to the brightness available when looking at the screen at a right angle. The viewing angle of the screen ranges from 100 to 160 degrees.
• Graphic resolution is the number of pixels on the screen. Typically, the graphic resolution of a screen is labeled as 500×400.
• Resolution is the number of pixels that are per 1 m2 of the monitor.
• Standard brightness is the brightness of the light emitted by the module. Brightness is measured in candela 1 m2 (NIT). Typical luminance for indoor screens is 1,200-3,000 cd/m2, and for outdoor screens it is 6,500-10,000 cd/m2.
• The weight of a stationary street screen is 60-70 kg/m2, but indoor screens have much less weight. The least weight of all having a large pitch flexible screens-grids. How to choose the format of the LED screen

The easiest way to choose the format of the LED screen is to choose the format of the LED screen, which corresponds to the usual format of video and computer programs: 4:3 or 16:9.

The quality of the image will be higher, the smaller the value of the step.
  • Viewing distance – the most comfortable viewing distance. It is measured in meters. In case the viewing distance is less than necessary, a person sees the pixel structure of the image, which, naturally, acts as an irritant for him. For example, if the pixel pitch is 16 mm, then the smallest distance at which the image will be satisfactory is 16 m, and if the pixel pitch is 4 mm, then the viewing distance should be at least 4 m.

The greatest viewing distance at which the image will be satisfactory is calculated by the formula: the greatest distance expressed in meters = 6B, where B – the width of the screen in meters.

On outdoor screens with LED backlighting most often used pixel pitch size from 10 to 40 mm. For large outdoor screens, the most commonly used pitch is 16 mm. For indoor screens, a pitch of 1.9-10 mm is used. In general, the smaller the pitch, the higher the quality of the screen, and as a consequence – higher its price. As for the flexible screen-grid, at the request of the customer, the step between the pixels can be from 10 mm and more.

Variants of installation of LED screens

External street screens are fixed either on the walls of buildings, or installed on roofs with the help of structures such as “legs”.

As for indoor screens, they are usually attached to the walls, suspended on cables or put on special racks. Whatever installation option you choose, without the development of a project for the installation of the screen can not do without. And in some cases, special metal structures are required for installation.
